Latin name: Boletus edulis

Habitat: Bolete grows in deciduous and coniferous forests. It grows in meadows and usually on the sunny slopes covered with moss. Located in Europe from summer to autumn. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, usually in oak, birch and mixed forests up to an altitude of about 1200 m in Europe also in pine and mixed conifer forests.

Description: Semi round cap light to dark brown in color, with a thick white tail and distinctive pleasant smell of fresh meat, when bruised or cut, it does not change colour, although some variations of the family Boletus are characterized by that feature.

Bolete is one of the best mushroom, which reaches a high price on the market. Grows after summer rain, in a semicircle, hidden under leaves or needles.
